On Kodi the sound starts for a few seconds on a video then the whole program crashes. So I can watch shows with VLC only after they are recorded by media center. I have the latest drivers installed.
test - no issue. After I upgraded to Windows 8 my extender shows that it is connecting, the the screen goes black with no sound. I tried a system restore but all restore points come back with error messages. That's not just adding the recorded TV folder is it?
Not sure if the video card driver is problem or not, I would think if this were the case I could atleast open media center just not watch TV. And so does my netbook with the same OS but on wifi I have been doing everything that google has been telling me through my search results. My System Specs OS Windows 7 . I managed to get the the behaviour to stop when i uninstalled shark007 codec pack (don't flame me coz i used a codec pack, i know the risks). On Kodi the sound starts for a few seconds on a video then the whole program crashes. Any ideas?
I've tried reinstalling graphics drivers and catalyst manager but no joy. WMC did used to give me a black screen on wake but this only required pulling up the Task manager and WMC would go back to normal. This updated version seems to be causing something new to happen. I have searched quite a few forums, but still no joy on fixing this.

I figure, I like the way Media Center looks in Windows 7, and it's a whole helluva lot easier to use than WD's menus (for example, I can't simply search for In WMC all playback is on a black screen and the mouse pointer has gone.
