In order to boot from it you may need to enter the BIOS and make the CD/DVD-ROM the first device in the boot order, and the hdd the second device. What GPU drivers are you using? Just tried uninstalling the video driver, no luck there. It doesn't seem to matter if I reboot or shutdownthe computer multiple times soon after reformatting it. Is this "fall of industrial production" graph accurate? I accepted this as a random happenstance, and let the computer do its reboot.
