More likely is that one of the other trusted components that this Microsoft driver interacts with is malfunctioning, and thus causing the Microsoft driver to run afoul. But the odd thing is that I was using that same version before my reinstall without any bluescreens (I used it ever since it's release). When I switch unit on the splash screen comes up and it looks like it is starting up normally, but then the screen goes blank. This is certainly not a unique problem. Maybe it has something to do with the lid being closed?
