Can I Get 144hz?

Reply 1 Zombie Jesus @zombiejesus Jun 7, 2016, 8:18am Plenty of games can be played at 4K 144fps, just not necessarily at ultra quality. Common problems: Drivers/Windows/Display settings. ASUS's 4K 144Hz beauty, in the meantime, will run off a IPS panel produced by Taiwanese manufacturer AU Optronics.

It turns out this particular monitor was designed to be used with AMD FreeSync, and that only works over DisplayPort. So even on just a few examples of modern games here @ 4K on MEDIUM settings don't even come close to 100fps on good hardware, let alone 144fps. Be sure your graphics card supports the monitor's resolution and refresh rate. Suggesting people with different priorities to you are 'insulting their hardware' is just a dick attitude though. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2599286/144hz-xl2730z.html

I've read that you need to drop all settings quite significantly @ 4K to even come close to getting 60FPS, even on a GTX1080. Some monitors may have both HDMI and DisplayPort connections, but may be limited to a 60Hz refresh rate when connected via HDMI. permalinkembedsavegive gold[–]SirBlubbalot 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago(4 children)Yes and yes.
